Tahini Chocolate Chunk Bars (gf + df)
Thick, chewy, sweet, chocolatey, indulgent, made with ingredients I feel good about.
Sweet + chocolate craving satisfaction 100% guaranteed.
These bars are made with a magic mix of whole food ingredients, including an unexpected one - tahini! Tahini is made of ground sesame seeds, and it’s texture is similar to that of natural almond or peanut butter. Tahini adds tons of healthy fats, protein and fiber to this recipe and creates the most incredible, dense, chewy texture.
Happy baking!

Ingredients
1 ½ cups coconut sugar
⅓ cup coconut oil, plus more to grease the pan
2 eggs
1 cup tahini
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup Not Your Mama’s Flour
½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
8oz dark chocolate bars (60% cacao)
Large flake sea salt
Steps
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Heavily grease an 8”x8” baking pan with coconut oil (alternatively, you can line with parchment paper).
Melt the 1/3 cup coconut oil, and add to a bowl with the coconut sugar. Whisk until combined.
Whisk in the eggs and vanilla extract.
Whisk in the tahini.
In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
Use a spatula to mix the flour mixture with the tahini mixture just until combined.
Chop the chocolate bars into pieces. Fold into the batter.
Pour the batter into the pan and spread evenly using the spatula. Sprinkle a little bit of sea salt on top.
Bake for about 40 minutes. Cool slightly before cutting into squares.
